It’s been a minute since I’ve thrown out any music for inquiring ears, so the revival of Tunesday Tuesday is back in action. There’s really not a whole lot of method to this madness. Most of the music I put up, unless it’s suggested by one of you (which is totally a viable option), is new music I’m finding, music I’m listening to that I feel may be flying way too far under the radar and deserves a little love, or music that’s somehow relevant to the timing of the post.
Lets get right to it. The #TunesdayTuesday band of the week is Awaken I Am ( http://www.awakeniam.net ) and was supposed to be their brand new release, “Divisions” off their upcoming album Shields & Crowns… BUT since they work on Australia time, it’s actually not going to drop for about 24 more hours. I’ll post an update when it hits. For now, we’ll use the original song that influenced this post.

Not that each Tunesday Tuesday wont be unique in it’s own way, but this will be one I release before even listening to the song. I’ve been hearing clips of “Divisions” for a week or so now and decided that this a song we can all hear for the first time together. Stay tuned on that.
Awaken I Am is an Australian band that is still relatively in its infancy when it comes to the amount of releases they have out. In 2011, they released a short 8 song album titled Resonance, then only a few stand alone singles since then. One of those stand alone singles is the entire reason this post exists.
Listening to the Resonance album, I felt like I was listening to a very close replica of Closure In Moscow, who unsurprisingly is also from Australia. The instrumentals and vocal stylings of each are almost identical. That’s fine in concept since Closure In Moscow is a really good band; at least they were until they released the Pink Lemonade album in 2014. Awaken I AM caught my full attention after hearing their 2013 single, “Seek Solace Search” and hearing the band’s evolution clearly moving in an incredible direction. I probably listened to the song on repeat for 3 or 4 days straight.
