Mega Shark vs Kolossus (Giant Titan). Eat Your Heart Out Sharknado.

There’s no hiding the fascination humans have with sharks. It’s probably pretty safe to say that across all generations, as kids, almost everyone thought sharks were as cool as they are scary. That’s pretty much where they’ve existed in pop culture for as long as pop culture has existed. You know… because sharks predate human beings by a substantial amount of time.

Think of all the shark properties out there. Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. Jaws 1, 2, and 3 (and 4 and 5). Deep Blue Sea. Sharknado 1, 2 and soon to be 3. Shark Tale. Finding Nemo even. There are endless B/C/D shark films, which definitely the realm where Sharknado lives, but its absurd name won it some undeserved notoriety as a good movie. Many of those B/C/D level shark films contain the name and character, Mega Shark. Pit Mega Shark against some other giant *something* and you’ve got yourself a movie fit for the Syfy Channel. Who/what Mega Shark is set to face this time is the most impressive genre pull yet.

Mega Shark vs Kolossus Trailer

There’s a clear as day ripoff happening here, which is fairly status quo for the Mega Shark franchise, being that it is a giant absurd ripoff of Jaws on steroids. Attack on Titan is an incredible comic/Japanese anime series/soon-to-be live-action film. It has been ramping up in popularity due to the announcement of it receiving a live action adaptation. Even Marvel Comics jumped on board for a universe crossover. Well Mega Shark’s adversary, Kolossus/Giant Titan, is a painfully obvious cyborg ripoff of the giant skinless titans from Attack on Titan.

I have to admit, I’m pretty impressed Mega Shark went in this direction. It’s going to be a terrible movie because they’re all terrible movies, but that’s not really the point. These movies are made almost solely to find out how many people will turn it on. Not keep the movie on… just take the time to turn it on. These movies are basically the TV/movie version of internet click-bait websites.

That’s all I got on Mega Shark v Kolussus. Nothing like being aware more low-quality monster movies are on the way. Hit up the comments with your thoughts and I’ll see you down there.

Just because they’re B/C/D quality films, doesn’t mean it’s not A quality content. Plenty more where that came from so make sure to follow me on facebooktwitter and instagram
