STAR WARS: Bigger Than You’ve Ever Seen It Before. If You Don’t Have Disney Stock… You Should.

So who in their right mind really cares that there could be a new President tomorrow, when just last Wednesday, we were officially told that Star Wars is coming back with a new trilogy AND MORE under its new owner, Disney???

(Disclaimer: Get your ass out and vote tomorrow. You may consider 1 vote to be insignificant but the people who lost their lives and/or continue to fight, defending your right to have that vote, surely thought and think otherwise.  Go Vote, even if its for Steven Colbert.  Go vote.  It matters!!!)

Seriously, there’s nothing better than an absolute halt in people spewing their political, and most likely, uneducated, irrational, extremist, and nonsensical opinions online.  Wait… yes there is!… when they stop talking about politics online and start talking about STAR WARS!!!!  For about 48 hours straight, a peaceful abandonment of political blabber took place and was replaced by the buzz of Star Wars, Disney’s new acquisition of Luscasfilms, the possibilities the future could hold for the franchise, and talk, both good and bad, of what people think the movies will be of and like.  For me, having Star Wars chatter all around my being for days on end was like getting a small sneak peak of heaven.  “I think I see Blue… He looks glorious!!!” (name that movie)

My take on it all is that Disney will absolutely clean house with Star Wars.  The heads of that company will legitimately end up with money bins like Scrooge McDuck and swim around in them, day in and day out.  Movie-wise, nobody has ever made a stink about Tron, Pirates of the Caribbean, and definitely not The Avengers.  All Disney, cult franchises.  All managed well and all produced to be hits without cutting corners visually and/or casting-wise.  Star Wars under the Disney umbrella will be no different.  There’s no reason to think otherwise.

In all three of the aforementioned franchises, Disney has shown that it absolutely has a darker and edgier side to it, without needing to step into the realm of excessive blood spill and  tons of sex.  That’s perfect for Star Wars since most of the wounds inflicted would be cauterized lightsaber or blaster wounds and the main characters pretty much parallel the concept of badass ninja-monks.  The already rumored “1952” (click here if you don’t know about 1952) writing and directing duo of Brad Bird from Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Damon Lindelof from Prometheus, shows that Disney is looking to give its viewers that action-packed, darker, faster, much less (or none at all) Jar Jar Binks version of Star Wars that we’ve all been waiting/pining/dying for.  You have to hope those rumors are true, or at least point in a solid direction of a similar truth.  My theory is that the gaming culture will play a very strong role in how the new Trilogy looks and feels (think The Force Unleashed, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Star Wars 1313).

Even more importantly for those interested in stock trading and investments, Disney is set up entirely different than Lucasfilms ever was.  Disney owns just about everything, whereas Lucasfilms only owns THX, Star Wars and Indiana Jones (mainly).  All merchandising and production that was done under Lucasfilms was outsourced to a 3rd party, which to business knowledgeable people, is obviously marked up at a price that those companies could turn a profit from.  Again, Disney owns EVERYTHING.  All of their merchandising is done in-house, at a fee far less nominal to what Lucas was charged, enabling them to turn a profit on all products far quicker than Lucas ever could.  We’re talking toys, clothes, DVD’s/BluRay, posters, video games, and miscellaneous other accessories, etc. etc. etc.  That’s a 2015 cash cow just waiting to fatten up beyond obesity.

Lets take it a step further now… Disney is known for its, you guessed it…THEME PARKS!!!  Sure Disney already has about 4 or 5 Star Wars attractions, but that was from back when they were only licensing the name.  Without a doubt, Star Wars could EASILY have its own theme park.  Those rumors are spiraling around in a big way too.  So much so, a detailed drawing of what the possible layout of the park could look like.  I may possibly have said drawing posted directly below this!

If you didn’t just become aroused, you may need some Viagra.  Read these few (and far from all) possible items slowly and just take it all in…

– Kamino Cloning Facility
– Death Star Trench Run
– Kashyyyk Family Treehouse
– Hoth: Escape from Echobase – The Ride
*** I’m hoping for a real-life Mos Eisley Cantina

THAT’S ONLY JUST FOR STARTERS!!!  They could make a Millennium Falcon gunner turret ride/game that looks and feels just like Luke and Han shooting in A New Hope!  They would be crazy not to make a pod-racer roller-coaster ride!  In the Jedi Temple, they could have the Jedi archive center with holocrons everywhere that have a million star wars factoids throughout the whole thing!  It could be of those places in the park that’s the perfect  family spot to wind down the kids but still be really fun seeing all videos and hear tons of facts and information you probably didn’t know or was never offered out before!  Just think about all the other things that can be done just for fun!?  Turn Epcot into the Star Wars universe, with all the countries being their own planets or well-known cities from the movies and have the giant ball dressed up as the Death Star!  At night there could be a huge projection show around it making it look like there’s a battle happening!  WHY AM I NOT ON THE THINK TANK TEAM FOR STAR WARS ATTRACTION IDEAS????????

Fans and haters alike… Star Wars is the biggest thing on and off this planet whether you like it or not.  The options are literally endless and you’re all crazy to think that someone at Disney hasn’t thought of all of this themselves as well or isn’t already working on it.  There is nothing you can’t do with this franchise and it spans through the interest of every living generation that walks the Earth today.  But it all comes back to a single, GIGANTIC point… Disney knows how big of an opportunity this is for them to make more money than any one company has ever made before. DISNEY ABSOLUTELY HAS NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO MAKE THESE MOVIES AMAZING!!!  It’s not enough to have the approval of Star Wars loyalists (like me), who will like anything Star Wars just because its Star Wars.  It needs to have another Avengers.  It needs to win everybody.  Disney needs this to be the best product they have ever created, and I have faith it will be.

May the force be with you all… always.
