I’ve always said, of all the Avengers, Thor has to be the most difficult recreate in film form and have it live up to the level of movie Iron Man started us off with. It’s the medieval-esk nature of his character and mixing him in with modern day that I saw as the biggest hurtle. Needless to say I was a massive skeptic going into the 1st film but Marvel did what they needed to do to make it a solid flick. Thor in real life is a ridiculous concept. He would sound ridiculous. The actual content of his words would be ridiculous. Attack it with comedy because that’s probably how we would react if we met him in real life as a god sent to Earth in exile. It worked.
Well it looks like we have a solid mix of Asgard and Earth turmoil going on in Thor 2. Loki is back and surely will end up a villain, even if he takes some sort of protagonist role for a moment. With the first Thor and the first Avengers chapter out of the way, it looks like any hurtles needing to be cleared for Thor 2 and future Thor related films are far behind them.
