With Pitt Football about to open a new season with yet another new coach, again fans are anxious to see how the 3rd coach in 3 years will impact the look of the team. It can be a little overwhelming to be a player in the midst of that many monumental changes to the head of the team. A little integration of lightheartedness can really take the edge off of a such an attention grabbing situation. The Pittsburgh Penguins organization did just that by sending the coaching staff to the Panthers’ practice to run around, catch a couple diving passes, and film their own touchdown celebrations.
If you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Andrew Taglianetti has been a rising star for the Panthers since his freshman year. His father, Peter Taglianetti was and is still a very respected player, now ex-player, for the Pittsburgh Penguins. With that kind of relationship connecting the two programs, the cross-promotion of the organizations is pretty much a “no-brainer”.
Check out Pens coaches Dan Bylsma, Tony Granato, and Todd Reirden visit the Panthers’ practice, have a little fun and show their athleticism extends far from just on the ice.
