As if Mario Brothers wasn’t awesome enough, I’m not sure the live adaptation ever gave it the representation it deserved. Maybe at the time… maybe it did, though? I know the goomba’s from the live action film always served me well for making a joke at someone else’s expense. Neither here nor there.
Crime dramas have always been a big hit for TV shows. When you think of it, the plot of Mario Brothers fits the mold really well. Girl gets kidnapped. Good guys on the case. A number of obstacles in the way. Beat bad guy. Save girl. Jump on a flagpole and ride the flag all the way down to the bottom then run into a little castle with fireworks going off above it. Ok… maybe not that last part, but the rest of it fits! These short live action crime drama renditions of Mario Brothers are ridiculously well done. I can’t wait for more to come out. You really don’t want to miss this.
