Star Wars: TIE Fighter Wars – FINALLY There’s More To The 2013 Anime Clip

In 2013, the world had a bomb of a gem dropped on it when a short 2 minute long anime version of Star Wars appeared online. An imperial fleet arrives to ambush some rebel command ships The animation was incredible and emulated every great Japanese anime cartoon and film out there. Fans went crazy for it. Rumors flew, but very little answers ever surfaced as to whether or not there would be more to look forward to. The outcry for more was certainly present.

Here we are, 2 years later and finally we get to see the entire battle and it’s beyond awesome. Star Wars is the best thing in existence so it only makes sense that Star Wars fans are the best fans in existence as well. This short fan film just supports that fact.

Star Wars: TIE Fighter Wars

Star Wars was largely told from the perspective of the Rebels. The plans of the Empire were only really divulged through Rebel briefings and plot twists where the villains love to lay out their plans so that somehow the protagonist can aid making them backfire. This video is quite the opposite. The Empire’s point of view is the main focus and the main characters are clearly a few select TIE Fighter pilots and a couple commanders on board Star Destroyers. It’s certainly an interesting angle to watch a Star Wars film from.

The information given on the animator’s YouTube page is quoted below:

What if there was an Empire-focussed short Star Wars animation, drawn with the crazy detail and shading of classic 80s anime that’s all but vanished from Japan nowadays?
Well, I tried my best. Apologies in advance for not living up to Venus Wars standards.
Drawn and animated by yours truly over 4 years’ worth of weekends, with music by the living guitar solo Zak Rahman and sound design by up and coming audio technician Joseph Leyva. Fans of Lucasarts’ seminal 1994 TIE Fighter game may notice a few familiar sights and sounds. That “incoming missile” noise gives me horrible flashbacks to this day…

Special thanks to the good folk at Lucasfilm for encouraging people to get creative and make these kind of projects. It’s thanks to their extremely fan-friendly nature that we can enjoy IMPS: The Relentless, TROOPS, etc.

Don’t support me on Patreon, because I don’t have one! And don’t donate to my Kickstarter, because I don’t have one of those either. Instead, if you enjoyed this, give someone at your workplace, uni, school or whatever a random bar of chocolate or can or Coke or something. Seriously, it’ll probably make their day.
That would totally make my day.

It’s all pretty incredible, including the part where the animator doesn’t want to collect any sort of compensation for creating the short.

So what did you think of the full look at the short Star Wars anime film? Do you think there’s more to this or has the original clip been floating out there for way too long to think there’s actually more of this anime in store? If there was a place I could vote, I’d definitely vote for more. You can put your vote and all of your thoughts on the Star Wars anime in the comments below and I’ll see you down there.

Star Wars is my lifeblood, so if that’s something we share, you should probably link up with me on facebooktwitter and instagram
