Pens Fall to Devils/Pitt beats Nova/The Superbowl Only Matters If You Have Money On It

Its a tough day for the Pens.  After the 5-2 loss, all you can say is the Penguins can’t really seem to get it together with any consistency when they play the Devils.  Fleury got pulled early in the 2nd after letting in his 3rd goal.  Martin has the city cursing his name again.  The physicality was sporadic.  The team didn’t really have much going on in the way of consistency. Malkin had an amazing goal.  Thats probably the highlight of the game for me.  I’m blown away at the skill he is displaying this year.  Unstoppable is definitely a word that comes to mind.  The video of it is below.  Our new Acquisition, Cal O’Reilly, got an assist after being brought on the team for being a “playmaker”.  Looks like that was a good call so far.  Niskanen was the beneficiary of that assist which put him on the board after more than 20 games without a goal.  The boys need to shake this off and gear up for the Habs on Tuesday night.  Bummer on the loss today, but as always LETS GO PENS!!!

A quick mention and shout out to the Pitt Panthers Mens Basketball team on their 79-70 victory over Villanova.  Pitt has had a rough year and started falling pretty deep into a losing streak.  Recently, they have been able to get the job done and take down some serious opponents.  If they keep it up, they could actually make a nice showing in the Big East Tournament this year.  It would be a nice change from the last couple years and they certainly seem to be coming on at the right time.

I have to say something about it being Superbowl Sunday, right?  Pittsburgh’s not in it.  Black n Yellow isn’t on the radio/jukebox every 5 minutes.  As far as I know, nobody around here really cares all that much about the game.  The general consensus seems to be, “I hate the Patriots so go Giants” or “I can’t stand Tom Brady. He better not get another Lombardi. Go Giants” or “…go Patriots”.  The people that care about the game right probably all have money on it and every second leading up to the game is more nerve-wracking than the last.  I guess I’ll make my declaration official right here.  I’m rooting for the Giants.  I have a gut feeling that New England has this one wrapped up this year, but I’m hoping for New York… mainly because their QB’s name is Eli.

I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE ANY NEW STAR WARS RELATED COMMERCIALS!!!!!!
