@Coheed and Cambria Releases New Video For “Number City” – The Cutest Creepiest Stop-motion Video Under 4 Minutes

By now, I’m sure it’s no secret what a giant fan I am of Coheed and Cambria.  In fact, just out of sheer coincidence, I’ve been involved in a lot of conversations about the band, their music, the concept of the story, and the overall ups and downs they’ve gone through to get to where they are now.  Much like Star Wars, I never get preachy and push anything I’m into on anyone, but I’ll always advocate you to check it out.

Number City isn’t the most typical song style for Coheed, but in that vein, neither is its video.  I have no idea where they found this stuffed bear, but its about as creepy and cute as a furby.  The stop-motion style animation of the video gives it that weird, mechanical, herky-jerky furby feel too.  It’s the right kind of mix to make someone want to keep watching to see what the endgame is in this.

Number City is resides on second half of the 2-part album, The Afterman: Descension.  The counterpart, first half and equally awesome album fraction is appropriately named, The Afterman: Ascension, complimenting a very broad blanketing theme of the whole album – what goes up, must come down… or so he hopes. [ little cliff hanger in the cryptic wording of end of that theme, huh? 😉 ]

Get the albums. They’re amazing.

Watch the video.

Enjoy!
